Mercedes and Greg are really excellent people. I love a good sense of humour, and I wasn’t disappointed when I rocked up to shoot their pretty awesome rainbow carnival themed wedding at Braeside Chapel on the Gold Coast. From the gold plated toilet seat wedding present to the killer tunes belted out (Love Shack) by the Bride and Groom on the Karaoke machine as voted by their guests, this wedding was not short of laughter, or fun, or anything else you might consider awesome. Kombi van = check. Sparklers = check. Ridiculous face pulling = double check. I freaking love these guys! Laughs were had, drinks were consumed, day was enjoyed. What more could you want in a wedding? Oh, and they decided on a first look too which is always great!
One of my favourite moments? The quick dash to the bedside of Mercedes’ grandma, who would have loved to witness the ceremony but was unfortunately too ill to attend (images have not been published out of respect for the family) right before the ceremony. It was lovely to witness.
I hope you enjoy this DIY piece of rainbow fabulousness. Here is the wedding of Mercedes and Greg.

The Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast Wedding of Imigen and Dave was short, sweet and excellent. It had all the good stuff. Custom made bridal gown like nothing I’ve ever seen (courtesy of a Hong Kong designer), an intimate gathering or family and friends, a full super moon during our location shoot, and the best choreographed wedding dance I’ve had the pleasure of photographing (to Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing – I KNOW!).
This was a wedding of pure joy, and it was all organised from the couple’s home in Vietnam and with the help of their lovely family and friends here on the Gold Coast.
The Sheraton Mirage at Main Beach was the perfect location for their intimate ceremony, and it just so happened that we were completely blessed by a spectacular super full moon rising on the beach as we were finishing our location photos on the Spit at Main Beach. I mean, it was perfect. You couldn’t plan it. Well I guess you kinda could, but mother nature really turned it on with one hell of a sunset resulting in the most amazing colours in the sky right at the crucial time I needed them. Thanks to MN for that!
They say it all happens at once. Well, it’s all happening at once over here at the moment!
On the back of a super busy wedding season, I have had the pleasure of being featured in a few wedding and bridal publications in the last few weeks. It’s really exciting seeing your images in print. No matter how many times it happens, I still get a kick out of it (even if I paid for advertising! I know, ridiculous, but true).
So here are the places you can find me right now. Well my imagery anyway. Right now I’m tucked away in my study with a glass of wine writing this post, but anyway, i digress (as usual).

Queensland Brides also have a little love for me with this editorial. They asked me for one of my favourite photos. This was the wedding of Sarah and Rob last December. I absolutely love this shot of Sarah’s Dad during the ceremony. Such a sweet moment I had the pleasure of witnessing. You can check out the rest of that wedding here.
I was also super lucky to be featured on the Queensland Brides blog the other day with a photo in their top 15 for 2015! This is from the wedding of Imogen and Dave and was a cracker of a wedding at the Sheraton Mirage Main Beach. Check out the Qld Brides Blog post here.
The Wedding Guide is another Publication that’s got the goods. I was lucky enough to have a couple of weddings feature in the current (and new) edition, as well as a few other morsels of loveliness throughout. One such wedding was that of Lauren and Tony. Any wonder, this wedding was amazing! Check out Lauren and Tony’s Branell Homestead wedding on my blog here, and purchase your copy of the Gold Coast edition of The Wedding Guide now!
So Nicola and James are adorable! They met quite a few years ago, when James spied Nicola wearing a Queen shirt and knew she was the girl for him. They both have a love of the band Queen (I know, could this get anymore awesome?). The rest they say, is history. After many years together, James finally popped that all-important question at; yep you guessed it, a Queen concert. Seriously! Wish I had captured that!
Pink was the order of the day, and while I’m not an overly pink loving gal, I was completely blown away by the show stopping dusty pink dress Nicola wore. I mean I literally gasped when I saw her for the first time, so you can just imagine James’ reaction! It was simply stunning and a joy to photograph a non-traditional bride. Nicola herself is just awesome. She giggled through the entire day with so much joy that it was contagious. James just adores Nicola, and it was excellent to be at a marriage rather than a wedding with their family and friends looking on.
When choosing particular elements for their big day, Nicola and James were super relaxed. After attending a performance at the Brisbane Powerhouse, Nicola immediately knew that was their dream venue (and I quite agree) with its perfect mix of eclectic, artsy and vintage. Nicola’s super amazing dress was bought off the rack (can you believe it?!), and lots of vintage elements were included throughout the day including mismatched chairs, lace doilies, typewriters, vintage inspired sweets and (my favourite) the old books with flowers seemingly growing out of them (made by the bride’s twin sister Mariam from Flowers of the World in Southbank). My other favourite (I’m sentimental) item was the snowflake cufflinks James wore as a tribute to his love’s nickname. Nicola also wore a snowflake pendant as her mum; a single mother of twins walked her down the aisle (to Queen’s wedding march – I nearly died with excitement. Best wedding march EVER!).
Oh, you may also notice the best man was in fact a woman. Love it! Carla totally rocked her best man duties like a boss too, and I’m stealing her dress.
Completely awesome day, congrats James and Nicola!

Brianna and Chris are honestly two of the most lovely people I have ever met. Both are just so easy going and the thing that makes me love them most is the fact they just love each other so openly and in a quiet, sweet and intimate way that makes it seem like the world is just passing them by as they travel through it in their little bubble. So when it came to their wedding day, I have to say I was excited. I had visited the venue Cherbon Waters over at Burbank (15 minutes from Brisbane city!) and fallen in love with the gardens (not to mention the lovely staff – and no this is not a sponsored post in any way) so I couldn’t wait to see what Brianna and Chris had organised for their ceremony and reception.
Oh boy, was I not disappointed.
> Let me first point out here that what completely blew me away about this day was that it was about the marriage, not the wedding. The wedding was fabulous and gorgeous and everything you would expect from such a lovely venue but this was about love, family and celebrating everything that holds these together; and I loved it. Every minute <
We were blessed with a perfect Autumn day. Not too hot (thank goodness!), and a wonderful sky full of sunlight which made the gardens just beautiful. Family and friends gathered in the garden under the gazebo and witnessed Brianna and Chris (who played a killer game of rock, paper, scissor to kick off the vow making – Chris lost that lol) declare themselves life-long companions before congratulating the couple who were then whisked off to spend some time with me taking photos while they mingled in the garden with drinks and canapés.
The photos, ahhh the photos!!! Good lord, what a sunset. Spectacular. End of.
