Rustic Wedding in Lawrence - Sam + Dom

Dom and Sam’s rustic Otago wedding in the small town of Lawrence has been one of my favourites, ever. Since the wedding in February I’ve had time to think about just why that is, and I’ve come to the conclusion it’s because this wedding presented me with something new, something exciting; and as a creative that just really gets you into the zone.

Sam and Dom are country people at heart, so this was a big factor in the styling and overall feel of their day. A rustic wedding seemed to just fit them perfectly, and they did things their way which is always a great way to ensure you day is as much fun as you’d hoped it would be. Another reason is their choice of rust as an accent colour for the bridesmaids dresses and flowers. In the over 100 weddings I’ve captured, I don’t recall ever having the pleasure of incorporating rust into my palette. Add to that a rustic wedding setting and you’ve got a recipe for deliciousness.

After the ceremony location of Lawrence Golf Club, the reception was held at Simpson Park rugby club, and what a tardis that was!!! The interior had been transformed into a gorgeous reception room with frost cloth and rustic wedding attire. The touches of greenery and the pallet wall backdrop were the perfect fit with the theme. Country music was a huge hit, and the relaxed vibe really encouraged guests to let their hair down. Dancing and frivolity ensued.
